Filed under: Fabrics for Shirts — shirt @ 04:28 PM
There is a wide variety of fabrics available when choosing a shirt. Each fabric or mixture of fabric can create a unique look and feel to a shirt. This article outlines some common fabrics used in shirts. Cotton: By far one of the most versatile fabrics. Cotton comes in a variety of weights and is very absorbent. Cotton is also machine washable and can be bleached. This material is most common in shirts.

Flax: This is a medium fabric that is often found in suits.

Silk: This fabric is ultra lightweight and drapes very well when used to create a shirt.

Wool: Offers many of the same advantages of cotton.

Polyester Blends: A combination of polyester and cotton is often a great combination for a shirt. The main benefit of the material is that it helps reduce shrinkage and wrinkling.
