Creating a custom shirt is made easy with the wide range of technology available. Anyone with a computer and inkjet printer can create a shirt that truly reflects their feelings and personality. Custom shirts also make great conversation pieces.
To create a custom shirt you will need the following:
- A blank shirt, a plain white t-shirt will work great.
- A computer
- A graphics editing program. Adobe Photoshop and Corel DRAW are two excellent choices. A simpler editing program you could choose would be Paint, which comes installed on Windows based computers.
- Shirt transfer paper, this can be found at any paper supply store.
- An iron to press the design onto the shirt.
To start the project, open your graphics editor program. Now is the time to let your creativity go wild! Think about different ideas to describe yourself and create it within the image. Use a variety of text and pictures for your design creating a collage about you.
After the design is completed, you will need to print the artwork onto the transfer paper. This works the same ay as printing a regular document to paper.
When the design has been printed, it is time to prepare press the design onto your blank shirt using the iron. The transfer paper you selected should have specific instructions on how to press the design onto the garment. Once the transfer is heated as instructed, remove the paper and Viola! A new shirt has been created that expresses you.
